Member Bios and Accomplishments
Ahmad Alsadeh, PhD, Birzeit University
Ahmad Alsadeh holds a PhD in Network Security from the Hasso-Plattner-Institut at the University of Potsdam, Germany, where he completed his dissertation on Augmented SEcure Neighbor Discovery: Aligning Security, Privacy, and Usability under the guidance of Prof.-Dr. Christoph Meinel. Prior to this, he earned a M.Sc. in Scientific Computing from Birzeit University in Palestine, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Telecommunication. Alsadeh’s research interests include network security, cryptography, and systems security. He has conducted research on various topics and has published in refereed conference papers and journals. Alsadeh is also an active member of the academic community. He has served as a peer reviewer for Journals and conferences. Alsadeh has taught several Bachelor and Master courses at Birzeit University, including Applied Cryptography, and Network Security Protocols. Additionally, he has supervised numerous master’s theses and bachelor projects. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has also served as Chair Person for the Department of Electrical And Computer Engineering at Birzeit University from September 2019 to August 2022. As the president of the Internet Society Palestine chapter, Alsadeh is actively involved in promoting the use of the internet for social and economic development in Palestine. He has organized several events and workshops to raise awareness about internet-related issues and to encourage the adoption of best practices in cybersecurity. Overall, Ahmad Alsadeh is a dedicated scholar who has made significant contributions to his field through his research, teaching, and service.
Arij Naser Abougreen
Arij received the M.Sc. degree in Communication engineering from the University of Tripoli, Libya, in 2018. Her research interests include image processing, machine learning, Internet of Things and wireless communication. She has three years of teaching experience in reputed university and high institute. She served as a session chair of International Conference on Digital Technologies and Applications (ICDTA’23 conference) and a session chair of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Information and Communication (ICAIIC 2023 conference). Also, she served as a technical Program Committee member and a reviewer for several conferences such as 𝟕𝒕𝒉 IEEE World Forum on the Internet of Things (WFIoT2021), New Orleans, USA; 𝟏𝟏𝒕𝒉 series of IEEE Symposium on Computer Applications and Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE 2021); 𝟒𝟒𝒕𝒉 International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2021; 𝟑𝟎𝒕𝒉 International Conference on Computing and Communication Networks (ICCCN-2021), organized by Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, IEEE International Conference on Electronics Circuits and Systems (ICECS) 2022, EAI CICom 2022 – 3rd EAI International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communications and EAI IoTaaS 2022 – 8th EAI International Conference on IoT as a Service. She also served as a reviewer for journal of Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer), journal of Healthcare Engineering (Hindawi) and Applications and Applied Artificial Intelligence journal (Taylor & Francis). In addition, she served as a reviewer for IGI and Springer books. She has authored/ coauthored four book chapters and two papers. She is currently editing two books to be published by IGI Global and Springer. Also, she is a member of IEEE Public Safety Technology Smart Algorithm and Informatics Committee.
Moussa Ayyash
Moussa Ayyash (M’98–SM’12) received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Computing, Information, and Mathematical Sciences and Technology, Chicago State University, Chicago. He is the Director of the Center of Information and Security Education and Research (CINSER). His current research interests span digital and data communication areas, wireless networking, visible light communications, network security, Internet of Things, and interference mitigation. Dr. Ayyash is a member of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery. He is a recipient of the 2018 Best Survey Paper Award from IEEE Communications Society.
