HTX-IEEE Public Safety Technologies Workshop
The inaugural HTX-IEEE Public Safety Technologies workshop, a collaborative effort between IEEE and HTX, focusing on the topic of “From Research to Real-World Applications." We were privileged to host four talks by a diverse group of experts. Dr. Robert Zinke from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Dr. Subit Chakrabarti of Floodbase, both are IEEE members, joined in virtually to share their knowledge and expertise on satellite-assisted earthquake and flood response, respectively. Dr. Varin Khera from CloudSec Asia and also an IEEE member, talked in-person about the vulnerabilities inherent in operational technology (OT) systems and provide insights into safeguarding critical infrastructure. Lastly, we had Prof. Kedar Hippalgaonkar from Nanyang Technological University and IMRE A*STAR sharing with us his research on AI and robotics to accelerate material discovery and synthesis for targeted applications. Gladly, the audience and speakers had very engaging and lively discussions with lots of interest in the topics presented. Watch the recorded workshop on demand.
